SEIPP Green Cities: planning a greener Garowe with GIZ

Funded by GIZ on behalf of BMZ, the SEIPP Green Cities plan sets out practical urban greening priorities for Garowe.

Rapid urban growth and rising temperatures are putting pressure on Garowe's residents, water and green spaces. The SEIPP Green Cities plan, funded by GIZ on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), responds with a practical roadmap.

TerraGap worked with municipal authorities and residents to identify priority sites for tree planting, shade, water harvesting and public green space, combining GIS analysis with community consultations.

The plan gives the municipality and its partners a clear, costed basis for investment in a cooler, greener and more resilient city.
